What are Permits for?

Permits are issued for various activities in, on or adjacent to roads under the jurisdiction of the Cass County Road Commission.

Permit Forms Fees and Information

Permit Fees

  • General Permit Form– Used for right-of-way, utilities, parades, run/walk events, sewer hookups, pier, road bore,logging, frost law, no spray etc. (see fee schedule for cost)
  • Annual Oversize/Overweight Permit Form – $100 fee (includes all equipment/fleet )
  • One Time Move Permit Form – $50 fee up to 16′ wide
  • Driveway Permit Form – $100 residential/field entrance fee with $200 deposit / $200 commercial fee with $300 deposit / temporary drives $150 fee with $150 deposit

 (ALL DRIVEWAY LOCATIONS MUST BE MARKED IN THE CENTER OF PROPOSED DRIVEWAY PRIOR TO INSPECTION)

Important Insurance Information

All permit applicants must provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 General Liability. naming Cass County Road Commission as the certificate holder. Contractor’s and Pier Permit holders must provide a Certificate of Liability naming Cass County Road Commission, Commissioners, and employees as additional insured and $1,000,000 general liability coverage.
