THE ROAD COMMISSION WANTS YOU TO KNOW . . .

The Cass County Road Commission is closing Dutch Settlement Street and a portion of Lake Street, for the safety of the traveling public due to high water, between Fish Lake Street and Lawrence/White Temple Road.  Historically persistent rainfall this spring has raised water levels in the swamps along Dutch Settlement Street and Lake Street in this area causing flooding.  These areas do not have an outlet for the water and the Cass County Road Commission is studying alternatives to determine the most effective method to reopen the roads.

A detour has been established for traffic to bypass this road segment by using Fish Lake Street and White Temple Road.  Local residents who have no other access to properties will still be allowed to use Dutch Settlement Street, but caution should be exercised as road conditions below the water may have deteriorated.

If residents have any questions they may contact the Cass County Road Commission at 269-445-8611.
